Community

Making a Difference

Helping provide access to good food and a better future.

We believe in supporting efficient and high-impact programs and regularly measure their impacts on the community.

7K Ranch is a proud supporter of The Alex Community Food Centre (CFC), a welcoming place for people to come together to grow, cook, share and advocate for good food for all.

The CFC provides people with access to high-quality food in a dignified setting through healthy meals and an affordable produce market. At the CFC, people learn cooking and gardening skills, and kids get their hands dirty in the garden and kitchen in ways that expand their tastebuds and help them make healthier food choices.

We support the CFC in it’s mission through land sharing, beef production, produce provision and hosting annual fundraising experiences such as Harvest Moon and our 7K Barn Raiser.

The Alex Community Food Centre (CFC) is located in Calgary, Alberta.

Connecting to the Land

At 7K Ranch we undertake a number of initiatives to connect people to the land. It’s now more important than ever to know where your food comes from.

Many hands make for light work. Are you ready?

It takes a community to build a ranch. With the support of volunteers, neighbours and friends we’re able to give back to good causes.

Volunteer at 7K

It actually takes a small army (or at least 4 x Dianes) to run 7K Ranch so we are ever-grateful for all the help we receive in putting on fundraisers, managing the gardens and getting 7K products to market.

Volunteering is a great experience and we always make sure to your time with us is as enjoyable as it is eventful. We provide a safe operating environment, provide instruction and roll-up our sleeves to work alongside you.

If your motto is ‘have spade, will dig’ and want to help us pivot from being the ‘little ranch that could’ to ‘the little ranch that did’ we would love to hear from you!

Guest-hosted events such as this one with Chef Matthew Batey are integral to our community fundraising efforts.
